Anodizing

Anodizing consists in creating an aluminum oxide coating on the surface of parts undergoing the process. Most often, anodizing is used for protecting the surface of an object, since it influences the object’s resistance.

Resistance

Anodizing determines resistance of the metal in case of corrosion or possible mechanical damage. Furthermore, anodizing may have a decorative character, since it allows to obtain a coating in a specific color.

Coating color

The color of an oxide coating on aluminum depends on the type of an input material. It also results from the type and content of alloying element in the input material, as well as the conditions of producing a given object.

What we offer our clients:
Soft anodizing

With oxide coating thickness of 5÷20 micrometers, which:

– improves mechanical resistance and smoothness of the surface,
– provides a dielectric layer,

however, it does not protect against alkaline substances; soft anodizing is used for decorative, protective and technical purposes, and the quality of an oxide coating is directly dependent on the quality of aluminum alloy that has undergone the anodizing process.

Aluminum dyeing

JIt is an additional service, consisting in applying a dye in an appropriate color on a previously anodized surface.

Technical information
  • Anodizing is carried out in a sulphuric acid solution
  • Aluminum with minimal quantities of alloy additions (PA0, PA1, PA2) is coated with a clear oxide layer
  • Aluminium with large admixtures of silicon, copper or manganese obtains a gray-colored oxide surface
  • Anodizing parts made of aluminum and its alloys with maximum dimensions: 3200 x 500 x 900 mm and 500 x 500 x 500 mm (in case of colored coating)
